The Energy Certificate, also known as the Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) is required for:
• Rental of entire or part of a building.
• Any sale of entire or part of a building.
• Posting an ad (in the Press or online) for the sale or lease of a building requires the issuance of an EPC to indicate the energy category of the building.
• Completion of construction of any new or completely renovated building.
• Integration of residential buildings to the home savings program.
• Energy upgrade of unlicensed buildings, offsetting up to 50% of the original fine.
• All public sector buildings.
